What to put on a sports day certificate

Readers look for the event and the placing first, so put them in one line. Keep the house, team or age group if your results use them.

Element What to write
Title Sports Certificate, Certificate of Merit for placings, or Certificate of Participation for every other entrant.
Athlete's name Full name, plus class or house for school events, so each certificate reaches the right child.
Event and placing The event, the category and the result: First place, Under-14 Girls, 200 metres.
Organiser The school, club or tournament that held the event, with its logo.
Date or season The date of the sports day, or the season for a league or club award.
Signatories The coach or PE teacher, and the principal or club chairperson.

How to make a sports certificate

1.

Keep or change the style

The Sports design is set; switch to your school or team colours if you like.

2.

Enter the result

Add the athlete's name, the event and the placing, plus your school or club.

3.

Print for the prize-giving

Spreadsheet

Certificates for every result on the sheet

An annual sports day produces hundreds of results across events, age groups and houses. DynaPictures takes your results spreadsheet and makes one certificate per row in your school's design, each with the athlete's event and placing, saved as PDFs named after them.

  • Results imported from Excel or CSV
  • Event and placing from each row
  • A ZIP of PDFs named per athlete
A DynaPictures spreadsheet with one row per image, and the image generated from the selected row
