Certificate of appreciation wording

The line under the name says why. Specific beats general: name the work, the event or the year you are thankful for.

For an employee

In appreciation of your dedication and the extra hours that made the spring product launch a success.

For a team

With thanks to the Customer Care team for keeping response times under two hours through our busiest season.

For a teacher

In grateful recognition of your patience, your encouragement and the joy of learning you bring to Class 4B.

For a volunteer

With heartfelt thanks for the Saturday mornings you gave to our community kitchen all year long.

For a judge or jury member

In appreciation of your time and fair judgement on the jury of the 2026 Young Innovators Fair.

For a client or partner

Thank you for ten years of partnership and for the trust you have placed in our team.

For a mentor

In appreciation of your guidance and generosity as a mentor in our 2026 graduate programme.

For a sponsor

With sincere thanks for supporting the Riverside Summer Festival and making it free for every family.

What to put on a certificate of appreciation

Six lines do the work. Keep the reason to one sentence so it still reads well when the certificate hangs on a wall.

Element What to write
Title Certificate of Appreciation, or a warmer variant such as With Thanks or In Appreciation.
Presented to The recipient's full name as they use it. Ask a colleague to check the spelling before you print.
Reason One sentence naming the work, the event or the period you are thanking them for.
Organisation Your organisation's name and logo, so the certificate says who is giving thanks.
Date The day you present it, or the month or year the thanks refers to.
Signatories One or two people the recipient knows, such as their manager and a director, signing by hand.

Thank a whole team in one go

Year-end thanks, volunteer weeks and project wrap-ups usually mean a certificate for everyone on a list. DynaPictures turns that list into a certificate per person in your own design, as print-ready PDFs named after each recipient.

  • Import the names from CSV or Excel
  • One PDF per person, named from a column
  • Your fonts, logo and colours in the editor

Certificate of appreciation FAQ

The recipient's name, one sentence on what you are thanking them for, your organisation and the date, signed by someone the recipient knows. A specific reason, such as coaching the under-12 team all season, means more than general praise.
