What to put on a certificate of recognition

Six elements make it complete. The achievement line carries the weight, so write it last and read it aloud before you print.

Element What to write
Title Certificate of Recognition, or the honor itself as the title: With High Honors, Best in Science, Leadership Award.
Line above the name Keep the default, Proudly presented to, or use This certificate is given to for a formal ceremony.
Name The recipient's full name, with a middle initial if your school or company uses one.
Achievement One sentence on the honor or result and the period it covers: the quarter, the school year, the project.
Organisation and date The school, company or association that grants it, with its logo, and the date of the ceremony.
Signatories Two people with authority over the recognition: the class adviser and the principal, or a manager and a director.

  • Each honor filled in from its own column
  • Print-ready PDFs named after every awardee

Certificate of recognition FAQ

A certificate an organisation presents to acknowledge an accomplishment or a standard someone reached: honors at school, top results at work, leadership or an outstanding contribution. It records the organisation's recognition; it is not a qualification.
