Internship certificate format and samples

An internship certificate confirms that a student completed an internship with your organisation: the dates, the team and the work done. Copy a sample for an engineering, MBA, law, NGO or remote intern, download the format in Word or PDF, or issue certificates to a whole batch.

Internship certificate samples

Students hand these to their college and to future employers, so each sample names the course, the dates and the actual work. The first is the format with blanks in square brackets; the other five are filled in.

What to include in an internship certificate

A college, a placement cell or a future employer should see at a glance who interned, where, for how long and on what. Seven elements answer that.

Element What to write
Letterhead The organisation's name, logo, address and contact details. A law chamber or a small NGO can use a simple printed header.
Intern's name and course Full name, course, year and college, spelled exactly as the student gives them to you.
Team and role The department and the intern's title, for example Marketing Intern or Legal Research Intern.
Dates and hours Start and end dates. For part-time or remote internships, add the hours worked each week.
Work done Two or three lines on the projects, tasks and tools, with one result in numbers if you have it.
Supervisor and performance Who guided the intern, and one line on attendance and performance.
Signatory, place and date The supervisor, the HR head or the advocate, with their typed name and designation under a line signed by hand.

2.

Fill in the format

Use the format or the sample for a similar role, and copy the dates exactly from your attendance records.

3.
