Frequently Asked Questions
Can I try it for free?
Yes. Every account can create countdown timers for free with the same limits as Lite: 5 timers, 2 sections per timer and a runtime of up to 30 days. The free allowance covers 100 opens in total, not per month, and free timers never carry a watermark. After the 100th open, your timers show a DynaPictures upgrade image instead of the countdown until you choose a plan.
What counts as an open, and what happens if I go over?
An open is one load of your timer image, usually a subscriber opening your email. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of opens sized for about three sends to the list size on the plan. If a send goes over it, your timers keep counting down: nothing is blocked and nothing is watermarked. The app shows how many opens are left on your countdown timer pages and a notice when you reach 80% and 100% of your allowance, so you can move to a plan that fits.
Which email platforms does it work with?
Any platform that lets you add an image to an email, including Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Kit, ActiveCampaign and Brevo. You paste the timer URL into your template as an image. There is no plugin to install and no account to connect, so it works the same way everywhere.
Can every subscriber get their own deadline?
Yes. Add the expire parameter to the timer URL and fill it with a merge tag from your email platform. Write the date and time as 31-12-2026--23-59 and it is read in the time zone of the timer, or use an ISO 8601 timestamp with its own offset. One published timer then counts down to a different deadline for each subscriber.
How long can a timer run, and what happens after the deadline?
On Lite and Standard a timer can count down up to 30 days, and on Pro you set the runtime your campaign needs. When the deadline passes, the timer switches to the after-deadline design you prepared, for example a message that the sale has ended. That design is one of the sections of the timer, so it counts toward the sections included in your plan.
Does the countdown animate in every email client?
The timer is a GIF created when the email is opened. It counts down for 60 seconds and then holds its last frame, and opening the email again loads a new one with the current time. An email client that does not play GIF animations shows the first frame, which already shows the time left when the email was opened.
Do I need a credit card to sign up for DynaPictures?
No. You can create your account and your first timers without a credit card. You only add payment details when you buy a plan.
Can I change my plan later?
Yes. You can change your plan at any time on the Plans & billing page in the app.
